Canon R1 Expected Features

Canon R1 has been a much-talked-about camera in the pro world. While the chances of it coming in Q4 this year are incredibly slim, here are a few expected features that will keep us going for a little more time:

Keep your seatbelts fastened for this one.

Global Shutter: Given that the EOS R1 is highly-anticipated to be the flagship of the lineup, it is a modest assumption that it will feature another highly-awaited feature, “Global Shutter.” It’s meant to be the next big thing fixing some of the inherent issues with the rolling shutter.

New AutoFocus System: Again, Canon has been teasing the pro players with many of their revamped lineup of cameras and what’s coming with these cameras. Quad Pixel AutoFocus (QPAF) System is one of them. Its patent appeared in 2020, so it’s been a long time in the running. We hope it will get featured in the R1.

DIGIC XI Processor: Unlike the features mentioned above, this one lies more in the realm of ‘hoping’ than speculation. DIGIC processing units have supported Canon cameras for a long time. And it’s only appropriate for the newest revamped R1 to get an updated processing unit.
