The 100 Megapixels Canon R1

As we are still waiting for official news on the upcoming Canon R1, let’s talk about the latest rumor that the fans are excited about.

The Canon R1 is said to have an unbelievable 100 megapixels resolution that has never been seen before in any DSLR or even Mirrorless camera. One of the significant reasons for Canon to take this major leap is the recent competition gap in the resolution.

In the recent releases from the three big names, i.e., Sony, Nikon, and Canon, the EOS R5 has the lowest resolution of 45 megapixels. At the same time, flagships from the other two market dominators were slightly higher. Sony Alpha 1 had a decent 50-megapixel resolution, and Nikon was slightly ahead with 45.7 megapixels.

Not yet sure about the applications of such high resolution, we are optimistic that the 100 megapixels tag will be a great marketing tool to dominate the market.
